Each Kane County school district offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, but no district can provide every program. In an effort to provide area students with increased opportunities in Career and Technical Education programs, Kane County school districts U-46, 300, 301, and 303 partnered to form the Northern Kane County Regional Vocational System EFE 110. This partnership allowed for the development of Regional Career Pathways, a program that enables eligible students in these districts to enroll in select CTE courses in partner districts. For the 2023-2024 school year, five Regional Career Pathways will be offered:
- Veterinary Assistant
- Precision Manufacturing
- Welding
- Automotive Technology
- Education
Each of these programs will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to prepare for a future career in these fields. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications and many will participate in externships during the course of their programs.
